In 2009 two men met at an event, one a therapist the other a recently recovered addict. Both men saw that there was a need for additional provision of beds for those successfully completing their initial rehab phase. The idea was to link the recovering person with a trained mentor and to walk a faith based 12 steps course, The Recovery Course, as it became known. The Charity, Inside Out, was born in Portsmouth and began taking in people in recovery from 2010. The Recovery Course and mentorship were open to accomodated and off campus participants and saw growth and success in excess of the national average in terms of a recovered outcome at five and ten year markers. In 2014 the charity expanded to Hull and saw amazing success and growth and is still the local authoritty's preferred partner in this field. In 2018 the Inside Out model came to Manchester in the form of Freedom Homes at Carmel Comminity Church in Denton. We are looking to start in early 2022 and provide support, mentorship and accomodation with the express aim of seeing lives changed through faith, community, love and acceptance. The chartity is linked with Anew, CGL and Acorn and draws the majority of course participants from these amazing organisations.
